Review on Ti Alcohol Stove Cross Stand by Marc Stewart

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Better there. in camping stoves

I have to agree with the previous reviewer (Kim) that this stand is very light and feels flimsy. Thickness of the paper in a greeting card? I'll admit I've only tested it once, but even that was enough to notice that it wobbled when anything larger than a couple cups of water in a pot was placed on it, and that was a test against a concrete block on mine Terrace. I compared this stand to the Lixada stand and the Evernew only beats the Lixada in terms of weight. Customs service. BUT if you turn the Lixada upside down you get the same inch spacing. Another perk is that Lixada has 2 coasters for 13.99, while Evernew cost me 14.97 for 1 at the time of this review. The Lixada coasters also came with a cord. a loop to hold the 2 parts together so you don't lose one of them somewhere in your backpack.……….……. GENERAL…………….I have an Evernew spirit lamp so I decided to try their coaster. After trying it I will not take it into the field as I am afraid that if the burning alcohol is spilled it will tip over under load and set something on fire. By the way, I switched to grain alcohol in NEW ovens. If I spill something in my backpack, I don't contaminate my gear with heat, which is a toxic substance. (This is written directly on the label) In addition, 190 degree alcohol can be used not only for drinking or burning in the oven, but also for other purposes.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
