Review on ๐Ÿ”ฉ Red Stainless Steel Nut and Bolt Thread Gauge by Paul Varnado

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I think it's ok if that's all you can afford.

For a tiny price, it's very hard to complain and take seriously, but it just made you want to get better. None of the holes or projections are threaded. Apparently to find the diameter you have to "put" the screw in different holes until you decide you hit the right one, and then when you're young and have really good eyesight you can match the threads . to the small indentations below to decide which thread you have. I'm assuming you "snap" them onto the tabs on the sides for the diameter of the nut. In order to determine the thread, I believe you need to find the bolt that will screw into it and then match the bolt to the thread recesses so you can then determine what thread the nut is. or something like that. The problem is that there are so many different bolt and nut diameters and crazy little threads - both SAE and metric - that it's very hard for me to know for sure what I have unless I can do things just don't twist. If you can afford it, I say, do yourself a favor and get one with all the different male and female threads mounted on a piece of aluminum hanging on the wall, or maybe even those, hanging on wire.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Modern
