Review on Enhanced Logitech G13 Programmable Gameboard featuring LCD Display by Mateusz Mazurkiewicz ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

I've been using it for over two years. Both for work tasks (production) and for games. A lot has already been written about the advantages and possibilities, I will note the shortcomings / features identified in the course of a fairly long operation. 1. Firewood under OSX, whatever one may say, curves (all versions) and freeze when trying to use the joystick. The latest version of firewood generally crashes when you try to reassign any button, only the old Legacy version works, and then without a joystick. It is because of the problems under the poppy that I am looking for an alternative to G13 but have not yet found it. 2. Software under Windows, fortunately, does not crash, but spawns a bunch of processes (separately for the profile manager, separately for the display controller, etc. .). The software is generally dreary, buggy and overloaded, if you have an old Legacy version running, it's better to use it. 3. Materials, tactile sensations - perhaps something has changed in the new revisions (not for the better), the version that I have made is pretty decent, with a confident 7/10 rating. The rubberized lining under the wrist holds up well, the plate in front “under the metal” with the Logitech logo and the glossy plastic around the display are worn out. 4. The buttons around the joystick and the joystick itself are very rigid and specific, but they are located very conveniently - indispensable in programs like Photoshop. They fit perfectly under the thumb, to access all the functions you don’t have to think. As the operation progressed, the paint on the top button (to the left of the joystick) was erased, the toggle switch became possibly softer. 5. During the operation, the native glue on all the legs melted and began to flow out, I had to peel off the remaining glue, clean the sites and put the legs on Chinese superglue - they still hold on . Native glue is terribly unsuccessful and flimsy. 6. After a reboot, the keyboard often loses connection with the computer and you have to reconnect its USB port. 7. Similarly, sometimes the keyboard for some inexplicable reason forgets its profile (buttons \ backlight \ screen) and you have to force it to be reassigned. 8. Weight more than 600 grams - does not slip on the table.

Pros
  • Design, device architecture. The ability to turn off the backlight with a separate button.
Cons
  • Build quality, software, price, OSX issues
