It's been nice to use many times when it's hot and sweaty, but it's not useful on the hottest days as it just blows hot air at you. Definitely worth buying and having one of these. It sounds like a small hum, so it's not very quiet. Mine started making a "cricket" whistle after a few uses, but so far it hasn't bothered me. Overall, I would say it was worth it.
