Satisfactory for light, casual consumer use. I hesitate to buy for commercial use.

Purchased to remove the cranks from a stationary bike. The male part that screws into the hand - the darker part in the product image - appears to be a very solid, well constructed part. It screws into position easily. The part of the bushing/bolt that is tightened at the end of the crankshaft to provide the necessary pulling force for removal does not appear to be hardened and the threads are not well defined. The two parts fit together quite nicely if you just screw them together as "dry" dough. My first attempt at removal was unsuccessful as I couldn't apply enough torque with the supplied short wrench to pry the crank off the square shaft. I had to separate the two pieces to use the longer key on the second attempt. In doing so, I found that part of the stud/socket was "stuck" in the darker part, indicating that the force used in trying to remove it caused the strands of the two parts to fuse together. It took two wrenches to separate the parts. Before trying, I applied a light coat of lube to the threads, but that obviously didn't help. The parts were coming loose and I didn't notice any obvious thread damage, but I think that slightly inferior material or possibly imprecise threading on the bolt/bushing parts is what caused this galling condition to develop during torque application loading. In the end I managed to remove two handles, although the connection between the two parts was repeated with each attempt. However, I think it was a decent deal compared to the more expensive branded instruments you can get. It is very likely that I will never use this tool again as it will not be necessary. If I were in a position where I needed to use this type of tool on a regular basis, I would go for a higher quality tool, also at a higher price point.
