I bought something like this for my sister to set up a workspace in our house during quarantine. I liked it so much that I wanted to set up my own workstation. However, being a graduate student, I needed two monitors compared to my sister's one monitor. I like this docking system specifically because it has 2 HDMI ports. Most of the others I found only had an HDMI port. This makes it easy to connect 2 high-quality monitors without additional adapters. I like that you don't plug the block directly into a computer port. It has an extension of about 4 inches, so it can be installed on my computer even with a protective case. I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 with a protective case so I can use this docking system without removing the base. The block itself is very small and light. It's about the size of a small portable power bank and half the weight. So it's really easy to put it in a bag to take with you when needed.
