Active ingredient is a form of PFAS - TOXIC if/when broken down.

I just found out that PFAS, a really dangerous chemical, is the main ingredient in the fabric protectants we've been using for a long time. Softclad is simply "fluorinated polymer" and water. Fluorinated polymer is the trade name for PFAS polymer. An internet search will tell you that as the polymer degrades, it breaks down into a form of PFAS that has been shown to be highly toxic. I'm glad I haven't bothered to use my bottle of Softclad on my couch yet. I am very frustrated that the return window expired before I knew the true nature of the product. Over $25 wasted!
