Great product

Great product. Note that it is specifically designed for use with RICAT E26 Series 6" Sealed Halo Lights. So to make a complete kit you will need five items: (1) 6" sealed halo light, (2) fairing (this item is one of many fairing options that will work); (3) E26 bulb; (4) 3/8" male clamp connector (H Series); and (5) a roll of tape. If you are using a sealed halo light, you do not need to make any modifications such as adding a pigtail, as in a separate review. Again, this is intended to be used with hermetic halo lights, but it may work with others you may need to create mods. I manage properties. I have installed over 30 of these halo lights, not counting other brands For refurbishment this style works with Halo sealed lights H27RICAT (Flat), H7RICAT (Full), E27RICAT (Flat), E7RICAT (Full).Halo also have new installation benches that work with this one.Personally I prefer H27RICAT with it because man v Before ordering from amazon usually don't know if there is a beam, obstacle etc. 7" above the drill point, especially for the basement of a multi-story building,so you are always safe when the bank is shallow. The E and H series are very similar, but the H series has better installation options/features while the E series is beginner friendly. Notice that the bulb and trim are sticking out of the ceiling. If that's not for you, opt for the Halo 301P series fairing, which is also fully recessed and cheaper. The review mentioned that the rear half of the fairing had to be cut out since the lightbulb wouldn't move. . . OPPS, but the idea is correct. If you are installing this fairing, you must remove the back plate and base bracket from the recessed Halo box PRIOR to installing the fairing. If you are just replacing an identical fairing then there is no need (swap and go). To remove the back plate there is a nut that is unscrewed by hand, 30 seconds max. Do not cut the skin, it is not necessary. This pad acts as a pedestal mount and the back plate interferes (as noted). To attach, remove the back panel, not the panel. Also, there's a review saying it's great because it can be dimmed, but you'll have to replace the whole thing if the bulb burns out. Eh, no. . . It all depends on the lightbulb. It's just a piece of metal. metal finish This product does not affect the dimmability of your lamp. If your light goes out, replace the bulb, leave the trim in place. You don't even have to remove the case to change the bulb. When first assembled, the skin tends to pop out of the rail at the pivot point. If it doesn't look straight or doesn't rotate easily, that's probably the problem. Just take it out and put it back in. It should also slide in and out along the mounting springs. If it doesn't slide in and out when you remove it, you haven't attached the springs to the spring mounts properly.
