These are handy little filters. I wasn't sure if they contained charcoal or not. They work well but it would be nice to understand their composition and durability with some guidance. I cleaned the sponges by removing them and washing them in a 10% bleach solution, then rinsing thoroughly. My bettas didn't bother them at all.
- πThe sponge filter uses an air pump as a power source to improve the dissolved oxygen level in the water.
