Review on 🐾 Ark Naturals Gentle Digest Capsules: Vet Recommended Prebiotics and Probiotics for Dogs and Cats, 60 Count by Jeremy Nunez

Yes, thumbs up for those probiotics

It's always hard (maybe impossible?) to measure, but we have a dog that has had immune system issues since we adopted him , including mites (deemodian mange), skin problems, and other diseases his immune system was struggling with. I've personally experienced clear results with probiotics and enzymes, so trying them wasn't difficult. It takes time and you never know for sure if they've had a positive effect, but I'm usually 95-100% confident that they've had a positive effect. Ironically, for the past week or so our dog has had a stomach issue and eventually fought it off, which sounds like a no-brainer, but it is. The couple points out what many people know, but unfortunately many people don't know: 1. Antibiotics kill "good" (good) bacteria along with disease-causing bacteria. Doctors prescribe them to humans (seriously) and I've seen the same thing in pets. A decrease in good bacteria can lead to digestive problems, and antibiotics only work on viruses to make them stronger because they weaken our immune system. 2. Probiotics can't be started, stopped and restarted etc - according to a study I read. Once stopped, they lose their effectiveness and usefulness. That being said, as with any supplement, start small, even with a larger animal, and work your way up, then be consistent. Be careful, careful and take your time. Also, it can take weeks/months to see the benefits and this product is affordable. We actually open the capsules and sprinkle them over food so you don't have to fumble around to give your pet a pill (never fun). Dietary intake of probiotics can limit effectiveness, but our results with our dog were nonetheless robust. If you have a pet with immune system issues, you'll appreciate any improvement.

Pros
  • Long lasting finish
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine
