High quality heavy chain. One problem: the clasp can come loose when your dog is active or has a thick neck and bending it properly. We have whippets, thin but muscular dogs with long necks and short hair. Both dogs had issues with the buckles opening unexpectedly and NOT because we were using them to attach the leash. DO NOT use them to attach a leash - it is not secure. We only use them as dog tags and then add a martingale collar when we go for a walk. We solved the problem of the clasp not opening by putting a small zip tie around the clasp, but that shouldn't be necessary at this price point. The clasp needs to be redesigned.
