It's everything you'd expect from a traditional metal shovel. It is durable and finished in a beautiful glossy black colour. If you sweep things into that scoop, they stay there. I also bought a very good horsehair cat litter brush. Both are very old fashioned and perfect for what they do. MY ONLY COMPLAINT is that when this shovel arrived there was this huge tag stuck on the shovel itself. I tried to tear off the paper and sure enough there was all this very sticky glue that the paper was stuck to. The people who do this must have some kind of rubber glue that just tightens with strings. It was actually a major pain in the ass to remove. I tried dish soap, alcohol and finally good old olive oil which I just had to leave for a day which eventually dissolved the glue. If I hadn't done all that, the glue would instantly soak into whatever I cleaned. Great shovel, but first you have to work hard to wash off the damn glue.
