The cooler is whirling and the keyboard's lighting came on when the courier initially turned it on. There is no response from the display. When I plugged in an external monitor, nothing happened. I plugged it in to charge and let it charge without external power; I turned it off and on again; I followed the instructions for resetting the BIOS to factory defaults. The gadget is dead, it doesn't do anything. Note that the store's service department declined to replace the item with one of the same model and color and instead issued a refund. They reported issues with the adjacent line, and now it appears those issues have spread here. Indeed, laptops may still be purchased. So, take care.
