This is one mighty little beast. I bought it to use in a small space, not to use under my computer like some do. In a room of about 10 x 10, I can feel a gentle breeze from the other side of the room. It's meant to be used more closely, but it works great for that. I'm impressed that the fan blades are actually metal! It's very quiet, but the noise it makes is more like a small mechanical hum than the intermittent noise of a plastic fan. I am very impressed with the build quality. I'd love to be able to plug it into a circuit breaker, but it requires touching the touch buttons on the fan to turn it on. I wish it had a remote control otherwise it would turn itself back on if the power went out. but i love it
