In short, the LS50 Metas are great. I have had the previous generation LS50 for three years now. In my quest for perfection I've used multiple amps (I wouldn't recommend Class D for the LS50, too bright, empty). Anyway, I've found a decent pair in the Music Fidelity M5si, but have never been entirely satisfied. Part of the reason for my disappointment was that I have a pair of GoldenEar Triton 7's that are fully holographic (highly recommend these towers to anyone) and they've stepped on the LS50. Consequently, I never fell in love with my LS50. Good but not great. Metas is much better than its predecessors. And I honestly didn't expect to be impressed. The highs are more defined and smooth/silky(?). Here's a more accurate measurement: 40% more goosebumps compared to the outdated LS50s. And now my Tritons have a competitor.
