It's times like these that I like to buy from Revain. I've read reviews warning people that this sentry box is poorly made. I thought they were all crazy. I had one of these things for years and liked it, but for some reason it was gone. So I bought one despite reading the warnings. I suspect Sentry is now part of the crap we buy from China. I received a package from Revain and the box was perfect. I took out the fire safe and it was gross, dirty, and covered in greasy powder. Looks like used on a construction site. I called Revane who quickly returned the money but I was curious as to what was in the fire safe. Start cleaning and voila! The top breaks off in my hand. From the looks of it, the hinge is just concrete(?) or some kind of fireproof material embedded in plastic that probably fell off in transit. Needless to say, they just don't make them like they used to. As other reviewers have pointed out, the bar is also complete rubbish. Don't waste your money, there are better options including finding a vintage device on the CL. view photos
