Review on Delove Shatterproof Stainless Borosilicate Beverage by Chad Carter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Seems well made but only holds 60 ounces. (7 1/2 cups) instead of the advertised 68 oz.

My only real complaint at the moment is that it holds closer to 60oz than the advertised 68oz but is still a good size. I read the mixed reviews on here and was a bit nervous when I bought it, thinking it might not live up to my expectations. My goal for this pitcher was to have a glass water pitcher that would allow me to store distilled drinking water in the fridge. I wanted to find glass because distilled water absorbs BPA and other chemicals in plastic. I had a really hard time buying a glass pitcher anywhere that wasn't just glass with a glass handle etc. I wanted the glass pitcher to be protected by plastic or stainless steel to prevent breakage when I drink a ton of water and take it to/from the fridge many, many times a day. Stainless steel was another option, but it's almost impossible to find a stainless steel pitcher with an airtight lid. This pitcher fits the bill as it has a lid that completely covers the water so the water doesn't take on fridge odors. The lid (although many complain about it in these reviews) seems fine to me. The water flows perfectly from every option on the spout (you can pour from the round hole on the stainless steel lid or it has a hole with lines). The one with lines flows a little better, but both are good. Doesn't splatter as one reviewer says. It flows well, not too fast and not too slow. I will confirm that if you turn the lid so no hole is visible and you pour the jug, the water will still come out a little, but it doesn't matter much. Just don't water if water doesn't come out. I have absolutely no problems with the lid falling off when pouring. But out of great care, knowing it's not a VERY tight seal, I usually leave the lid on anyway, but I've had no issues with water coming out when it shouldn't or where it shouldn't. I like that the lid, although the top is plastic, the bottom and grate/hole parts are (or pretend to be) stainless steel. This way I don't have any plastic touching my distilled water. I ordered pink and every time I take water out of the fridge I'm like, 'this is such a cute pitcher, I'm so glad I ordered pink.' I've only had it a few days so I have I haven't removed the bottom part yet (it unscrews from what I understand), although I plan not to try as some reviewers have complained that there is some sort of trick to putting it back on. right to make sure there is some kind of suction or pressure to close the lid? I'm not sure what the issue is and haven't read the small instructions that came with my jar, but I plan to read them before attempting to take them off. I don't understand why you have to remove the base when you don't need to clean the space between the glass carafe and the plastic body. This would probably be more necessary if you plan to use it for something sticky, sweet or colorful like sweet tea, kulayda or sangria etc. But if you remove the base, you can't really clean the INSIDE of the carafe. better than if you just slip your hand or bottle brush through the top and the body was still intact. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. It was fairly inexpensive and ticked all the boxes I was looking for, except for the fact that I wish it was 68 ounces as advertised instead of 60 ounces so I wouldn't have to refill the jug as often. But so far I can highly recommend it.
