This storage shows up as active but when I loaded a backup with lots of data it just hung! I'm not entirely sure if it's the extra memory, but that was the only difference since I'd added the data earlier, and while it was slow (the Mac only had 4GB of memory at the time), it wasn't stalling . The first time I added storage with this data on the Mac, it didn't work at all, just turning off on every reboot. I've tried changing it and even going back to the original save but to no avail. At this point I had to restore the Mac. Since I rebooted without loading the saved data everything was fine so it will stay but just not very happy with this memory increase :-(
