I bought 3 of these and kept sending them back, couldn't figure out why they charge my dead battery or show no connection when the crocodiles are clicked together (to check whether it was included). I finally read where Smart Tech won't charge a completely dead battery. That . . "Safety feature" so you don't accidentally create sparks. So you're screwed if your battery dies completely. The trick I've heard is to connect another 12v battery to trick the charger into thinking it's a half dead battery. Who needs a charger that only charges half-discharged batteries? Safety comes before functionality here. Rather a stupid technique
