Children from 3 to 10 years can play with it at home. A 3 year old can't build anything vertically but can connect magnets on the floor. The two older ones have no problem building things that stick out of the ground. The magnets are strong and there are no problems with them. The balls are a little too heavy so they have to think ahead how to hold what they are building to build a good structure. A 10 year old used them as bowling balls and threw some balls across a large room. They're all intact so I'd say it's durable too!
