Feedback from the veterinary clinic

A small collar that could. First, let me say that we work in an animal hospital. Everyone, including all of our vets, has always had the guideline that flea collars are only useful for shredding and vacuuming fleas to kill fleas. They were just rubbish, especially compared to actual products. Remember that we are not paid to say anything good about this product. We are concerned about some misinformation in previous reviews. Of course, when the Seresto collar arrived, we were skeptical. At first we didn't want to put this product on the shelf. Since then we no longer wear collars. Well, nobody could remember. After many discussions, which mainly convinced us that this is a new type of collar that is non-toxic, covers the entire animal and kills fleas not only on the neck, and that it can be used for several months. We decided to give him a chance. This decision was made in part because we had a new rescued kitten who had a very severe allergic reaction to topical flea medication. These collars came at just the right moment for us to try something new for them. Trust us when we tell you how surprised we were that they worked. Not only did they work, they worked well and lasted incredibly long for a collar. No bad reactions were noted. Even a few other employees started using it. We started buying them shortly after and have had nothing but praise from staff and customers ever since. While we haven't seen a single case of chemical burns or hot spots directly related to these collars, these things can happen with any collar or flea medication. Not to mention many other factors. It's important to understand that your pets are just as different as people. You can have an allergic reaction to anything. Animals from the same litter can also have very severe allergies. One of the reasons we originally considered this collar was that one of our rescued cats had a severe allergic reaction to a topical flea treatment and the collar failed. One of our dogs has allergies to grass and beef, among other things, which causes his ears and skin to turn madly pink and itchy; while another of our dogs reacts so badly to turkey that her whole face starts to swell. The fact is, just like humans, animals can have bad reactions. Don't demonize a product that works well for many pets just because your own pet has had a severe allergic reaction. Do you have any idea how many people are allergic to aspirin or other drugs or foods? To the point that it could literally produce a reaction so severe they could die? However, we make no effort to throw stones at these companies and their products. Watch out for allergies in your pets. Visit your veterinarian and do an allergy test on any pet, especially if you notice persistent itching or bald patches. We can't tell you how many times someone has wanted a new flea product because their pet is still itchy when in fact the pet is having a bad reaction to a new food or other product in the house. (Do you wash your pet's bed with detergents? You may also be allergic to soap.) We sympathize with anyone who has a pet that has had a bad reaction. Believe me, we see so much suffering, intentional and unintentional, in this industry and it never stops upsetting us. We hope you find the right product for you and help you and your pets live long and happy lives.
