I bought two of these bulbs to use in a specific fixture that required smaller diameter bulbs to keep the bulbs from protruding below the shade. You have done a great job. I noticed that some reviewers had issues with the short lifespan of the CFL bulbs. When we first started using CFLs a few years ago, we had the same problem with incandescent bulbs lasting weeks to months. On a whim, I used a multimeter to check the voltage at several outlets in our house and found that the current in the house fluctuated wildly between 90 and 110V. Such fluctuations are detrimental to CFLs, not to mention stressing equipment and electronics. We had an electrician checking our switch boxes and electricity meter. He confirmed the AC voltage and said the source was on the line to the house. We contacted our skeptical electrical company. They ended up sending someone to check our story and ended up replacing the transformer on our block's power tower. The problem is solved, our compact fluorescent lamps have been in service for many years and the mains voltage in our house is constant.
