Not quite quiet, but still better than ticking

I can't stand the ticking of normal clocks. I was thrilled when I read the word "quiet" on this product, but it's not entirely quiet. The sound it makes is similar to what a constantly spinning second hand would make, rather than the ticking movement of the second hand. While not a faint noise, it sounds more consistent so it bothers me less; i will keep it Things I've noticed from other reviews are true: the back is open (no cover over the battery), no glass to protect your hands (although it does add style). Easy to read and stylish.
