My house has wooden floors and wide doors between rooms, but no robotic doors. If I run my Shark ION without containment, not only will it not perform to its full potential, but it will also be lost when far out of dock. I have to block multiple doors to contain the ION and I can't leave these strips attached to the exposed wooden floor. When it turned out that the roll of magnetic tape that came with the robot didn't meet my needs, I went in search of an available add-on. I came across this product and ordered it right away. It works just like the strip that comes with ION. The strip is slightly narrower than the Shark but works just as well. You can crop it easily. I use larger ledges for the mentioned door opening and also to protect the jambs which tip over easily. Neither the original nor this one lies completely flat, but they prevent the robot from walking over it. – Debbie Lee Wesselman.
