I like the idea and for many this is an easy setup. The installation didn't take long. However, tilting the filter away from the heat shield meant there was a gap of about 1/2 inch at the bottom and about 1.5 inch at the top. This presented a problem as the backup ring was painful to attach and tighten. After a quick test ride the filter fell off as there wasn't enough room around the filter to ensure it was fully fitted. Be careful and keep a screwdriver in your truck. Too bad K&N didn't do it in a part or two. There are many parts out there, actually more than OEM.
