Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Matters Internal SFF-8087 to SFF-8482 by Jim Kriegshauser

Possibly incompatible with your drives, not the fault of the cable, can be bypassed.

The good guys who set the standard for SAS decided to repurpose the 3.3V pin on the SATA power connector as very few drives ever used it. If you try to use this cable on a drive with this feature, it will most likely not boot up or be recognized. An easy way to test this is to power the drive from a 4-pin Molex to SATA power adapter. If the drive works with a 4-pin Molex connector but not with a 5-wire SATA power connector, the problem is with the 3.3V power connector. In my case, I decided to use the 3.3V Cut the V-cable (the orange cable closest to the L-shaped part of the connector) on the cable for each drive. After cutting this wire, the cable worked fine. Google "HGST 7K6000 Not Spinning Up" for an alternative solution and a slightly more technical explanation.
