Actually does what it says on the tin. As mentioned before, check your motherboard/graphics card specs before purchasing. You CANNOT adapt a DVI-D connector to a VGA (D-Sub) monitor input. For clarity, use your internets to look up the specs if you don't have the documentation that came with your graphics card. Seriously, just google it. If the specs say your port is DVI-I or DVI-A, you're spending a small amount of money ($2.14 at the time of this review) on this adapter. However, if the specs say your connection is DVI-D, save your meager sum of money and resign yourself to needing one of the following: (1) a much more expensive "converter" (something actually needs to be "digital Convert signal to VGA, it can't just "match"); (2) new monitor; or (3) new graphics card. If you don't follow this advice, it would be unfair to give the device a bad review. Er does what he says.
