I bought this monitor to connect to a docking station for a very modest home office (e.g. a small corner of the living room on a narrow desk). Since I usually work with two monitors in my office, I decided to use one large monitor to save space. The HP 27 is a nice, slim, large monitor - it makes it easy to view two documents side-by-side on the same screen - and has a very slim profile. Since I mainly use it for working papers etc, I didn't care that the resolution was lower (as other reviewers have pointed out). It's usually imperceptible unless you're trying to view high-resolution images or video.
