This is foam and not hard. Perfect for my daughter's door. She likes to close doors and this one doesn't close completely. My daughter is 4 years old, she can't reach and take it off. Easy to attach to the door. No tools are required. Not sure how long it will last as it foams. I like that my daughter didn't hurt her fingers. This is a must.
