I had a bike lock in my pocket until this spring when I finally fitted it to my mountain bike. The bike was hanging by the front wheel in my garage. A few weeks later I was about to ride my bike when I noticed the bracket was broken. I have never ridden a bike with a broken lock. The lock seems to hold, but the shackle is too cheap to even support the lock's weight. I will continue to use the lock. If you want to install it on your bike, you can find another lock with a better mount.
