All I had to do was plug this webcam into my computer's USB port and I was on Skype. There is no need to download any software, although dedicated software for this webcam may be useful for those who enjoy tweaking settings. If you prefer plug and play, this webcam is for you. The picture is sharp and clear, the sound quality is good. There's a small red LED on the front next to the lens to show that the camera is on, which is good for security reasons. The base can be placed on a flat surface or firmly attached to a monitor or laptop. In this price range, the price-performance ratio is definitely good. Also, this is a Wansview company making quality cameras since I bought them. I think that's number 7 for me.
