Generally better than what you pay for; Color coding of the cables tested

I connected them to my 01 Ford F250. The quality of the mirror on mine turned out to be good, although I was wary of reading other people's comments; obviously mmv. Losing a star is associated with a mediocre landing. Yes, you will need to cut off the plastic alignment tab or it will be difficult to press firmly enough onto the truck bed. It takes about 2 minutes with a hacksaw, so it's not a big problem. A more serious issue is that the passenger's side mirror appears to be pushed back more than the driver's side and at a slightly odd angle that isn't exactly perpendicular to the ground. I haven't read any comments on this so this can only be my experience. Works well but looks kinda weird. Before buying it, I didn't have mirrors with signals and defrost, so I had to connect it manually. I haven't seen anything to suggest that if you already have heated mirrors with turn signals, they don't just plug in and work. However, as another buyer noted, there are no or no schematics online. So you don't rip your mirror off to look at the wiring, here's the information you need: Red - Dome light (turn signal) Black - Ground Blue - Side marker light (under the turn signal) Orange controls the mirror (up/down or left /right )White - Mirror power (not ground) Yellow - controls the mirror (up/down or left/right) Gray - heater as the factory pins were set up in the truck, as were the white wires (there are 2 of them that go to the same pin walk). So if you're ambitious and trying to upgrade your old mirrors, you probably don't need to cut the first three wires (orange, white, and yellow), you can just leave them connected to the wiring harness. Finally, if you've followed this schematic (and consulted other online resources - there are some particularly good videos on Youtube, though not specific to these mirrors) and your mirrors still don't move, try replacing the mirror control switch. Turns out mine was bad too, making it harder to troubleshoot.
