I used this HDMI to VGA adapter to convert HDMI digital signals from a Roku Blu-ray player and a flash Convert drive to an older Dell projector with analog VGA input. It worked very well with both sources with no problems. For the Roku Stick I needed a female to female HDMI adapter which is not included. The projector can handle many different resolution settings. With the Roku Stick, I did get some noise in the image when using the 1080p resolution. Changing to the projector's native resolution of 720p cleared everything up. I didn't need a separate power supply for these two sources, but it's nice to be able to add one for some devices that don't have enough HDMI output power. There are no adjustments to the adapter. If your display or projector requires a different resolution, you must change it in the source. Most devices can be switched from automatic to a fixed value like 720p. I connected the 3.5mm audio out to a separate speaker with a cable. I had no problems. This is a great product, especially considering the very low price.
