My boys are 5 years old and although they can ride normal pedal bikes, one of them always preferred a balance bike and didn't want to switch to a big boys bike as he didn't want to give up his glider. They're about 42 inches tall and weigh 45 pounds and this bike is the perfect size with room to grow thanks to the adjustable handlebar height and seat height. It was super easy to put together as I only had to attach the front wheel and handlebars and it's super easy to adjust with the Allen key provided. It's incredibly light, especially compared to the same-sized pedal bike that the other twin had at the same time, but it feels just as sturdy. My boys love that they have space to put their feet when they go out and ride this bike every day both on the trails and around since it opened. I would highly recommend if your child prefers a balance or glide bike or an older child is learning to balance and ride, a great purchase!
