My kids love this sharpener. It's fast and sharpens better than my school sharpeners. I am a teacher and my birth children would often sharpen ten pencils with the powerful sharpeners in my classroom about every two weeks. In the meantime, they used their tiny pocket sharpeners. It didn't work that well. We always ran out of sharpened pencils for art projects and homework. My biggest objection to an electric sharpener at home was the danger it posed to my three year old. She is precocious and too brave for her own good😉. However, my husband and I found a spot for a sharpener on top of our bedroom dresser and ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (big bonus) the pencil hole is too small and deep for her little fingers anyway. It's a relief for worst case parents like us and for my older kids who need it. I would also use this in a classroom with my students, but in places with little use or traffic (like an art or writing center, or at my small group's table with a guide). Smaller than a standard classroom, the shatter tank is small and needs to be reset frequently, but it's just as powerful as it is large.
