Good pump when it works

Bought 4 of these pumps from different vendors. I use them to aerate a 275 gallon aquarium (aquaponics). They work great when they work, but are cheaply made. All the same problem. Where the motor windings burn out at the point of their attachment to the armature. I've re-soldered them a few times and increased their lifespan, but ultimately I think I'll have to shell out 4-500 for a better quality air pump.
