Although the description says it's good not only for artificial nails but also for natural nails, I found that this is not the case. with me and my natural nails. The 100 grit side is very light, like running worn or rough plastic over my nails. The other side is too rough to shape properly and both sides feel very cheap and plasticy. I did a manicure at the salon many years ago, so I know a bit about good files. There's nothing close to it. The size would be great to carry in your purse, keep on your bedside table etc but I find it unsuitable for my (natural) nails. As none of us in my family currently have artificial nails I can't speak to their effectiveness in that regard but I don't think they will last very long and be as effective as they should be cheap and powerful. They can be good for a crooked nail, but that's about it. thank you for reading
