I am sorry to have to join the growing list of sad CD-41 Rapid Charger users. My charger stopped working (solid green) in less than four months. And usage hasn't been heavy - I've used the charger less than 10 times between the two batteries I have. At this rate, fast charging costs me $135/year (with 4 months usage that would be 3 chargers/year and $45/charger -> or $135/year). Needless to say, I am NOT happy with the quality (or quality control) of the Yaesu products at this point. I was thinking of a Chinese charger I found online, but the label on the bottom of the Chinese model says the charger's output is only 7.2VDC while the Yaesu should be 8.4VDC. The now inactive fast charger measures 7.0 VDC when S1 is pressed (5.8 VDC when not pressed). And for what it's worth, the problem may be with the transformer, not the fast charging box itself. The transformer's output voltage is only about 10.2 VDC, while the label says 12 VDC. That might explain why I can't charge my batteries, or only with difficulty, if the transformer is connected directly to the radio. I'll do some more testing on the dead charger once I get a replacement. I just wish there was a viable alternative.
