I really want to give this product 5 stars but I can't. I have had two of these cables for 2 years now and they have never let me down. until last night. I woke up to the smell of smoke and found my cable like this. Nothing was pinched, the cable was just in the charging connector as it normally sits. I have no idea what could be causing this, but I was afraid it would have done a lot more damage if I hadn't woken up or been home when it happened. I wanted to give it 5 stars. It's been a phenomenal cable for 2 years but until last night I was dreading buying another one. They were great cables, but I don't like the risk of fire in my house. Up to this point it still received 2 stars for a phenomenal cable.
