We have artificial grass outside our sunroom sliding door so that our dog can keep clean paws when she just goes out to do her business and then comes right back in. We put this piece on the approximately 3'x4' cement step just outside the sliding door and before you step off into the yard proper. It is soft to walk on and the dog doesn't mind it at all. She actually lays on it to sun herself in the cool morning hours when the sun hits that spot before rising over the roofline. The turf does get a bit warm, but not too hot. Hopefully that moderate temperature will be the same during hot summer months. I am glad we got this piece for the cement step area.
