I love this camera.
Works well in both bright and low light. Tripod and camera are made of high-quality materials. The stand has a heavy rectangular base measuring approximately 3.5" x 5.25" to keep the camera from tipping over. In addition, there are three swivel joints that enable an almost level installation. I could be wrong but the stand is quite heavy so I'd say it's metal. The bottom of the stand consists of a hinge followed by two square bars, another hinge followed by a square bar and another hinge at the top. The top loop holds the lever with the camera.
