SECOND UPDATE: OK, I give up. I've really tried, but these things just can't be snapped. I think I got lucky a few times when I last checked my review. Even my husband, who is strong and loves gadgets, had trouble closing the lid and said he had to press very hard. Also, they never sent me a replacement for the battered one as promised, but that's secondary because I have a set of containers that can't be sealed. It seems like a good deal if you read the list, but what's the use of the containers you have to fight to seal them? UPDATE: I am revising my review for two reasons. First thing I found was that locking tabs don't really work like I'm used to with similar containers. The protrusions consist of two parts: a curved part near the junction with the top of the cover and a flatter outer edge. I've tried closing them by pressing on the flatter outer edge or center of the tongue. In fact, it works much better if you click on the curved part above. This lifts the tab down and out just enough to snap onto the rim of the container. Second, the customer support went out of their way to be extremely responsive and offered to replace the damaged container. For these reasons I am changing my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. I was happy when I received this item for the first time. Arrived quickly, securely packaged. The containers look sturdy and close tightly. However, one glass jar broke on the rim before I'd even used it once and only slightly knocked the other jar off as I moved them around. Also, they are incredibly difficult to snap into place. My eyelids seem to magically shrink after I wash them. The clips on the sides are very difficult to snap into place - I had to flip the container sideways to snap it into place, so I'm glad I didn't try to salvage some liquid. I've used these containers before, so it's not like I don't know how to snap the lids open. This set was cheaper than most other sets so I think you get what you pay for.
