Revainrating 4 out of 5

Rating updated! This works great now that I know what I'm doing!

I've had this for over a month and it has probably only fixed 4 bugs. We live near a paddock for horses, cows and sheep so there are crazy flies around our house. I wanted to try the solar option as our outdoor outlets are not near our patio or doors. It just doesn't work like it should. Even if left in bright sun for a few days it turns itself off, the bugs don't seem attracted to the light so I'd call it a failure. I mainly use it as a flashlight when taking out the trash at night. Update: I left the zip on just for giggles one night and the next morning it was full of bugs! I was shocked. So I tested it again and again in different places and found that it really depends on the ambient light. When it's light, the bugs don't bother with the zapper. In the house he takes full care of the flies that come with us and bother my guinea pigs. Banana fruit flies have also disappeared. It's just better to use it in twilight or total darkness. Is that something other people knew and I didn't? I figured they would see the light differently and be attracted to it regardless of the ambient light. So I found out and now I appreciate this bug repellent a lot more! Now that there are bugs to remove I just spray the hose. Simple, quiet and no fuss. It comes with a brush in case you have desiccated corpses that need to be removed. I'm still giving it 4 stars because I'm not thrilled with how long it takes to charge in the sun. We have TONS of sun here and it doesn't fully charge the battery even if it's turned off all day. Now that I know how best to use it, I really like it. Just remember that it works best in the dark. Now as I write this I'm thinking of putting it under my patio to see if I can get rid of more flies that way. . . It's a reasonable price so I would recommend trying this zapper. It can't hurt you but it can kill a fly (haha, couldn't resist rhyming πŸ˜‰)
