The plumbing in my house is 70 years old and rusted. It doesn't have much leanness for pushing "things". We switched to single-ply toilet paper, but we kept running into spare parts in the sewers. it also affected our ability to do laundry. When the wash water drained, it returned. Last time we had to call a plumber for an "emergency" plumbing job. Thrown away $500 and a few months later they're still coming back. This auger saved me $400 or more the first time I used it! It worked as advertised. First I watched a few videos and had no problems. I went through the drain in the shower and made it about 20 feet in without much effort. It is not difficult to use but requires patience. I attached a drill to the back to rotate it. I honestly can't speak to its longevity, although I think I'll probably use it a couple of times a year. I don't think I have auto feed when I close the handle. I have to hand feed him and twirl him around with a drill to keep him going. This still works for what I need.
