After a few thousand kilometers and a few months everything seems to be fine. FYI: If you have these "Fuel Emissions Control System Leak Detected" codes (P0455, P0422, etc.), the cheap sequence is to retighten the gas cap and clear the code. If it comes back, replace the gas cap if it's over a few years old and clear the code. When it comes back, first check the two valves (flush valve and bleed valve), especially if they are original and years old, as they have to be opened/closed a million times and wear out. The breather valve is on top of the engine, and the breather valve is on the bottom next to the charcoal canister and fuel tank. Both valves for my car were cheap enough that they could just be swapped out instead of testing them first. We also found a broken (completely closed) orifice on the charcoal canister, leaving the hose open. So to avoid the mechanic and the time and labor consuming "smoke check" do the following: gas cap, 2 valves, visually inspect first before taking it to the mechanic.
