When I first installed it, it worked fine for the entire USB capacity (16GB). Hooray! However, if the 2nd USB stick (32GB) was installed while the content of the first one was downloading, if RECORDING was displayed at the beginning and STOP RECORDING at the end, NONE of the recordings were saved; The USB stick was completely empty. Fiddled with it for about a day, unplugged and plugged back in, etc. About a day and a half later, it just started working. And even then, several recording events were missed. About 4 days later it happened again - after a basic check of the connections I decided to Download the current USB content and try another USB (16GB). This drive wasn't even recognized and I couldn't, I never recognized it (I know the drive was good as I tested it directly on a PC copying, moving, playing etc). I tried the USB which I used first - now it's not even recognized. That was before and all I did after deleting it was downloading the content to PC (without formatting etc.). No matter what I did, it was never recognized - so these are 2 working USB sticks that could not be used on this device alone. I then installed a 64GB module which the spec said was incompatible. Viola! It was recognized immediately. It also seemed to be recording, but only 75% of the time. It could store over 50GB of recorded content. I've been able to remove, download, and reinsert this device multiple times with no issues. It's been 31 days (the return period just passed) and you guessed it - successful writes have dropped to 30% or 40% of the time and I can't figure out why some events are being logged and others aren't. Worse, the only way to really tell is to stop the recording(s), turn off the content and download it to PC and scan the content (I hope you remember what it should be). Using the built-in media access software, which can be a very useful tool, is cumbersome at best, very tedious and slow. Another problem is that when you press the record button, the word "Record" is displayed for @5 seconds. If it disappears, it's impossible to tell if the recorder is on (making it very difficult to tell if it's one of the saved non-recording times). My previous entry left a red dot in the top left corner to indicate a recording was in progress). The only way to tell if a recording is in progress is to press the stop button, which displays STOP RECORDING, and then examine the contents of the device. If you (like me) intend to record events for a permanent record, I would look elsewhere. If you're recording for "fun", when the lack of a particular record doesn't matter, you should consider this device. However, a significantly cheaper device is more economical and probably more reliable anyway. where the absence of a particular entry is irrelevant, you can consider this block.
