Stormproof! on tents

This tent is rock solid. At first I only docked the star because there are no viewing windows for possible dangers and for ventilation and the "antechambers" created by the rainfly are too small. I know the main concern for the designers was rain protection and that's why the above issues exist (on purpose) but it's still an issue. We have used this tent several times and love that we can stand in it. It takes a little more time and talent to build than our 4 man Coleman, but that's to be expected. I can still install it myself if I need it. I want to talk about a specific trip with this tent. We took him to Okoboji on the weekend of July 19, 2019 to visit his family. That night it was terribly hot and there was no wind. I didn't close my eyes as I lay panting in the congestion. I didn't take off my fly because the chance of rain was over 50% and it's difficult to put it on alone, especially in the dark and when it's raining. Ventilation would be particularly useful on this night. The next morning we left the tent in the ominous sky and went to visit my mother. While she was in the safety of her apartment, a storm broke out, bringing hail, direct winds of 60 to 70 miles per hour and torrential rain. Trees were felled, large tents destroyed, roofs torn off, grain silos half collapsed. We returned to the campsite expecting the worst. The campsite was mostly empty and full of pools. Our tent was still there. Only one pole was reversed and I pulled it out again with no problem. The inside of the tent was completely dry, as was our stuff. Despite being ventilated with a rain cover, this tent gets a 10/10 for its durability and weather protection.
