I'm a huge fan of anything that helps keep me warm when I need it. And I've been having a painful neck lately and wondered if this neck warmer would help relax my neck.It's a nice unit for looks and feel, but I'm not a fan of the non-indicating buttons - there's nothing that tells you it powered off. Well, at least this one doesn't turn off using the button with the one dot (or bump) as the instructions say. So, I assume that when I press the other button and lights go off that it's off. No way to tell as it stays warm awhile after you shut it off. I also assume it has a timer and it automatically shuts off after a certain period of time. At least I haven't pulled it out and found it to still be hot, and not dead either.It does warm up nicely but doesn't get hot (at least not to me) and it doesn't actually hug your neck, you have to press it against your neck to really feel it. So, it's kind of a one-handed helper unit. I suppose if I were outside and it was really, really cold I would feel the warmth without pressing it against my neck, and it would be nice at that point. But for general use to warm your neck - not so much. And about worthless for pain management. Plus, the band is narrow, as in not much height to it, so not much coverage either. It does heat up across the width of the back of your neck and that's it.Again, not a super useful device, unless you are out in fridge weather (which I guess depends on what you think is really really cold, here's that under 20 degrees (F).For pain management and heat comfort, I'll stick with my infrared devices that work fantastic.
