Big sand - reptiles and amphibians

Clean well before use. Eventually it calms down. I swirled it in a pot, soaked it, and threw it in water to clean it. After a few cleaning cycles, they settled well and looked beautiful.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unfashionable

It takes a little time to clean, but my turtle loves it :)

It took quite a bit of water to clean, but not as much as I initially expected. Before you put it in the aquarium, make sure it's really clean so it doesn't get cloudy. I would definitely buy again.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Equivalent to sandy mud.

This is the worst thing I've ever tried. I soaked and washed it for several days and the water kept getting cloudy. After sitting in an aquarium with two working filters for several days, I had to throw it out and buy a new substrate for my turtles. I would give zero stars if I could imagine it without a review.

  • Great selection

Excellent but CLEAN good

Cool! My African clawed frog loves it. Keep in mind that this is natural sand that has not been treated so it will be dirty. I put it in a bucket and rinsed well. It probably used 200 gallons of water, but it was worth it. The water from it is a little cloudy, but I run a filter to clean it.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Fairly ok but...

Sand for a turtle aquarium.

Bought this sand for the turtle tank. I use it for the nesting platform. He is very soft. Sand was oozing out when I received my bag, so I lost a lot of sand. I reached out to Revain and they shipped me a brand new bag for free and told me to keep what I got. Will definitely buy again.

  • One year trial period

Good sand, after thorough washing

Many of these sands are very fluffy and do not appear to have been pre-washed. If you just put it in water without washing it. You will have to wait about a week for the sand to fully settle. Every time it barely moves, the sand moves a lot. I recommend taking a pillowcase and lifting up all the sand until the water runs clear. Took me about 30 minutes but the water was clear most of the time and at night it was completely clear and the sand barely moved.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Quality matches the price

My turtle doesn't seem to care between the play sand I rented there before and now with this product. BUT I have the assurance that my little one will not have any swallowing problems. The play sand I bought looked like it was degraded. It had medium/small rough beats. The river bed looks beautiful, feels even better and was difficult to clean. To be honest it was worth the effort for the peace of mind. Use a pillowcase and an irrigation hose. It's a lot easier than bending over a bucket. Just…

Pros
  • As everything before

  • Factor Set

Sand and turtles = look for a good product.

Reading many reviews on the internet that this is a great product for turtles, I have to say that this is absolutely not the case. I've used it for about 2 weeks and have used it in two tanks for two groups of turtles, both hatchlings and annuals. When the turtles move on the sand, they rise and form huge clouds of sand that make it impossible to see them clearly in the aquarium, and the sand leaves an unpleasant residue on the aquarium walls and on the water surface, but they love to dig in. I

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
