1. Winter is fine, but when the sun starts to burn everything in late spring and summer, blue gel pieces turn into pockets of lava. The rest of the part also becomes quite luminous (though not as much as the blue parts) and I end up driving the car with my fingertips to minimize damage until it cools down. I ended up just ripping off the blue pieces (they still came off).2. Has the cover torn at the splice? As a result, I sealed it with tape so it wouldn't fly off the steering wheel. Took about a year to turn into garbage. It's time for a new one but I'll look elsewhere and preferably in cloth material rather than rubber/plastic as it gets too hot.
